This page is dedicated to those who came through SOS, Save Our Strays and have since continued on to their final resting place. All of these animals have become family members to us and have left pawprints on our hearts!
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to tell you Maggie passed away today August 29, 2008. We are crushed. Maggie was at the vets office being monitored after treatment for Heartworm disease. The vet's office called in tears as they reported the news. They really got attached to her because she was such a Big Love of a Girl! To think that all of this could have been prevented if this poor girl's former owner had provided her with monthly heartworm preventative. May Maggie rest in peace and be restored to health and we can meet again on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge. Maggie was rescued from a Kill-shelter out-of-state. When she was taken to the vet to be spayed it was determined she was heartworm positive. This disease is a preventable one - but Maggies previous owner never gave her heartworm preventative in the 8 years she was alive. We are gratefull to all those involved with the rescue of Maggie. We rest assured she knew love before she died.
Thor came to us from a bad situation and he shared his years with us until he could no longer.
While in our care, He enjoyed a renewed life as the Save Our Strays SpokesDog, Nursing Home Visitor, Parade Entertainer, Ice Cream Eater, Wood Stove Rug Warmer, Wonderful Companion and a True Friend.
He passed from this life at 3:15 p.m., on a day in the month of May, in the year 2007.
Thor is deeply missed. And is never forgotten.
Our Love is with you my Dear Friend, and Yours with us.
....Until we meet again.
