Sponsor Sophie and Family's medical care!

Shyann

A pregnant Shyann was found abandoned.  She gave birth to her pups on 3/23.  Mom and kids are doing very well.  The family will need be provided with food, shelter, veterinary care and love as they grow and will continue in our care until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered and adopted into forever homes.  Any monetary contributions/sponsorship toward the care of this family is greatly appreciated!

UPDATE: 5/7: The Runt of the litter - Now named "Frodo" will be going in to the vet's for diagnostic testing.  It is suspected he has a liver shunt issue and this exam will confirm his medical condition one way or another.  The good news for Frodo is that his "Secret Admirer" has 'adopted' little Frodo despite his medical condition!  Although he remains with us, she has visited him daily to cheer him on in his fight to grow and prosper!   Thanks so much "Secret Admirer!"  Your compassion for Frodo is so appreciated!

UPDATE 5/6:  The Pups have had their first round of Puppy shots.  They are ready to meet "their potential forever families" and they will be ready to go to their new homes as on Wednesday May 13th.  We have had many inquiries on their availability and priority for adoption will go to those who have already inquired and have completed the pre-adoption application!  SO - IF YOU HAVE ALREADY CONTACTED US REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF ONE OF THESE PUPS, NOW IS THE TIME TO GET BACK IN TOUCH SO WE CAN CONFIRM YOU ARE STILL INTERESTED IN ADOPTING!

UPDATE 4/29:  The Runt of the litter has a Secret Admirer! !..... And this is most helpful to the Little One!  A visit or two from Runts new friend has translated into a new peacefulness for this little guy!  I would never have thought I'd be a believer...but Reiki is working magic through her touch!   Healing Energy is just what this Little Guy has longed for.  I can't explain it, but whatever it is, it sure is working  for little Runt!

UPDATE 4/25/09: Our little Momma dog has a new human family to call her own once she has weaned her pups!  A wonderful couple stopped by to meet Shyann and the Dwarfs, they fell in love, and now have decided to adopt!  The folks will naming Momma "Sophie."  So it's only right that we begin to call her by her new name  while she is here with us raising the kids!  So, from here on out...... We are pleased to announce that Shyann is now known as "Sophie."

UPDATE 4/21/09:  Shyann and the 7 Dwarfs (3 males, 4 females) went to the vet today. (Thanks to the folks who sponsored their very first vet visit - it is much appreciated.)  Everything checked out well and they are right on schedule - - that's good news for their 4th week birthday.  But, here is the surprise:  The largest of the litter (a girl) weighed in at 3.1 pounds.  The smallest (a male aka "the runt") weighed in at 1.3 pounds!  Guess we know the answer to who is more pushy when it comes to Mommas  milk!

The vet visit did not yield only good news though....It is possible Little Runt has a medical condition which is causing him to not be able to utilize/digest food as he should.  The vet raised a concern for a possible Liver Shut disease issue.  The plan of action is to feed his a special diet in addition to Momma's milk and to watch over Runts development.  It is possible he will be a need testing and even  surgery in the future.

UPDATE 4/13/09: Today the pups are up on all fours and moving! Now that they are walking wobbly, they are looking more like puppies instead of little guinea pigs. This is a good milestone for the Dwarfs but mom, Shyann, is finding she must move a little quicker if she wants to get away from the kids!

UPDATE 4/8/09: Mom and pups are doing well. Today the kids got their first look at their Momma. They opened their eyes! Pups are using their new found sight to move their hungry bodies around and locate their Momma even quicker than they did before!

3/30/09: A pregnant Shyann was found abandoned. She gave birth to her pups on 3/23. Mom and kids are doing very well. The family will need be provided with food, shelter, veterinary care and love as they grow and will continue in our care until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered and adopted into forever homes. Any monetary contributions/sponsorship toward the care of this family is greatly appreciated.
